If the person remains ill beyond the estimated H1N1 incubation period, they should be considered contagious until the H1N1 symptoms are no longer present. All people presenting H1N1 symptoms or other flu-like illnesses should remain home for no less than 24 hours after symptoms have resided without the use of fever-reducing medicines.
